Snowdown Colliery Male Voice Choir has been established in the
village for 75 years, during which time the members have performed
at more than 2000 concerts in a variety of venues throughout
England, Wales and on the continent.
Annual concerts in conjuction with Snowdown
Colliery Band are held for St David's Day
and Christmas.
It was originally formed as a miner's choir, but since the
closure of the coalfied members have been recruited from all walks
of life through a wide area in Kent. New members are welcome
and anyone interested is encouraged to attend a practice evening to
join in or sit and listen.
Practice sessions are held every Monday evening (except Bank
Holidays) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Welfare Club, Dorman Avenue
South.
